Before taking out the march Sikh sangat held an Ardas at Akal Takht Sahib. The march passed through various cities and towns of Punjab before reaching Hassanpur village near Ludhiana.

While talking to media Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala criticised Badal government for it’s failure to secure release of Sikh political prisoners who have served their jail terms.

He said that two more Vangar marches will be held from Takht Kesgarh Sahib (on May 27) and Takht Damdama Sahib (on May 29).  He appealed to the Sikh sangat to support Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who is on indefinite hunger strike since January 16 seeking release of Sikh political prisoners who have served minimum mandatory terms for their sentences.
