Nabha, Punjab: The Nabha police today got five days police remand of Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo who was arrested by Punjab police from a New Delhi airport on November 08.

Harminder Singh Mintoo’s counsel Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that after expiry of police remand of Bhai Mintoo by Jagraon police, a Jagraon court had sent him to judicial custody in Maximum Security Jail, Nabha on December 11.

Nabha police today (Dec. 12) brought Harminder Singh Mintoo on production warrants from Nabha jail and presented him before duty magistrate Minakshi Gupta. Police informed the court that Bhai Mintoo is arrested in a 2010 case, FIR number 17/2010 registered under Arms Act and Explosives Act.

Police demanded 10 days police remand of Harminder Singh Mintoo which was opposed by the defense counsel. After hearing arguments of both sides the duty magistrate Minakshi Gupta sent Bhai Mintoo on police remand till 17 December.

Defense counsel told the court that Harminder Singh Mintoo recently underwent heart bypass surgery before his arrest. On specific request of defense counsel the court directed the police to provide proper medical care to Bhai Mintoo during police remand. The court also directed the police to get ECG of Harminder Singh Mintoo conducted daily and provide him serves of heart specialist if the need arises.
