Chandigarh: In wake of constant rainfall in Punjab and catchment areas of Punjab rivers in Himachal Pradesh the situation in Punjab is alarming as the water level in rivers and dams is nearing the maximum permissible limit.
There has been constant rain fall in the region for past 36 hours now leading to increased influx of water in Bhakhra and Pong Dams. The concerned departments have issued letters stating that the flood gates of these dams could be opened any time.
