People of Punjab take to streets against ban on Sadda Haq

Jalndhar/ Chandigarh, Punjab (April 10, 2013): It is learnt that people of Punjab took to streets in solidarity with Sadda Haq team, while demanding removal of ban on imposed by Punjab government on the screening of the movie. It is learnt that candle lights vigils were held at Chandigarh, Mohali and Jalandhar.

Participants of this vigils were holding candles in their hands while some other were holding placards demanding lifting of ban imposed on the screening of the movie.

Sadda Haq is a film by actor-cum-producer Kuljinder Singh Sidhu. It is based on events of 1980s-90s in Punjab. The film was banned by the Punjab Government on April 04 on the recommendations of Punjab police and bureaucracy.

Kuljinder Singh, producer of Sadda Haq, said during a vigil held at Chandigarh that the ban imposed by the Punjab government is a black spot on the face of democracy.
