Police leaves Bapu Surat Singh’s house, no fresh arrest so far

Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is on hunger strike since January 16, 2015

Ludhiana: In a surprise action today, the Ludhiana police in large numbers surrounded the house of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. As per information police personnel numbered more than one hundred surrounded the house of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa at around 9 pm.

There was a suspicion that the police might re-arrest Bapu Surat Singh who is on hunger strike for more than 100 days now.

While talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone, Bibi Sarvinder Kaur, daughter of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa said that the police, in large numbers came to their house. Many Sikh activists were already present in the house. There was a verbal altercation between the Sikh activists and the police as it was being suspected that the police might re-arrest Bapu Surat Singh.

Later the police officers assured the Sikh sangat that they had come to know the well being of Bapu Surat Singh. After holding a brief discussion the Sikh activists allowed the police to meet Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa.

Bibi Sarvinder Kaur told SSN that the police left their house at around 10 pm.

She said that the police personnel and CID officers use to visit their house on regular basis, but heavy police deployment this evening raised the suspicion about police plan to re-arrest Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa.
