SAD (Mann) Seeks International Probe into Bhopal Encounter of SIMI Activists

Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann), a political party led by former MP Simranjit Singh Mann has demanded ‘international probe’ into Bhopal encounter in which the police had killed eight activists of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).

In a written statement issued yesterday, SAD (Mann) alleged that the SIMI activists were killed by the Bhopal police and the story about there escape from jail was a planted media story.

He said that an international inquiry panel should be setup to probe this encounter in accordance with precedence of international inquiry into assassination of Benazir Bhutto and in another instance by Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) into assassination of  Rafic Hariri.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) demands an International investigation into barbaric killing of 8 young Muslims in Bhopal, Madhya Pardesh, on the same pattern as the International investigation in the cases of a Lebenon Prime Minister Mr. Rafik Hariri and Mrs. Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan, said party chief Simranjit Singh Mann.
