Sant Samaj chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma tenders memorandum to Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh

While seeking release of Sikh ‘Political Prisoners’ the memorandum tendered to Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh by the Sant Samaj leaders pleaded ‘sacrifices made by the Sikhs for India’.

“As you are aware that Sikhs have made supreme sacrifice for the freedom of the country and till today, Sikhs are protecting borders by laying their lives. Sikhs also made a big contribution in overall development of India. But we regret to say that our genuine demands were suppressed either by branding us as terrorist or anti-nationalist. And thousand of our innocent Sikh brothers were arrested and sent to various Indian jails. Some of them are still suffering in jails in-spite of completing their sentences. And a few of them are in jails for more than 25 years. We request you to immediately intervene and get them released as they are political prisoners not criminals” reads the memorandum.
