Amritsar, Punjab (July 1, 2014): A day after SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar indicated that captain Amrinder Singh and Harmohinder Singh Chattha might be summoned by Akal Takhat Jathedar, Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh on Tuesday asked the leaders of rival factions of ad hoc Haryana Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC) Didar Singh Nalvi and Jagdish Singh Jhinda along with four others to meet him at the Akal Takht at 11 am on July 2 and discuss the issue of separate SGPC for Haryana.

Talking to media persons, Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh denied he had “summoned” the Haryana Sikh leaders. He clarified he had “invited” them to discuss issue of the separate SGPC for Haryana.

Earlier during the day, a wave of shock shivered the Sikh folds across the world after media “broke” the news of summoning of Haryana Singh leaders at Akal Takhat. A wave of wrath against Badals and Makkar was witnessed at social media.
