SGPC president want RSS chief Mohan Bhagwant booked for Hindu comment

Amritsar, Punjab (August 13, 2014): In a statement the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar strongly condemned Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat for his controversial statement that all those inhabiting the Indian peninsula were “Hindus”.

SGPC president said that Mohan Bhagwat’s statement has deeply hurt the sentiments of religious minorities, including the Sikhs. He said that Mohan Bhagwat’s statement was an highly offensive to minority communities.

While invoking the state-terminology to plead his argument, Avtar Singh Makkar said that Mohan Bhagwat’s statement has threatened “the unity and integrity” of the India.

“The Government should book and arrest Mohan Bhagwat for disrespecting secular framework of Indian constitution” Avtar Singh Makkar said.

It is notable that present government in India is believed to be “governmental-wing” of RSS. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a full-time activist of the Hindu supremacist outfit (RSS).

In a recent statement RSS chief had said that RSS do not recognize Sikh religion as a distinct or separate religion from Hinduism.

The hostile claims of Hindu outfits against Sikhism had received a scholarly blow by Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha in late nineteenth century. Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha had rebutted all arguments of Hindu propagandists with solid references from the Gurbani itself. Till date no Hindu propagandist has come forwarded with any sort of answer to Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha’s book/ thesis “Hum Hindu Nahin” (We’re not Hindus).
