Sikh activists take out Vangaar March in Barnala in support of cause of Sikh political prisoners

Barnala, Punjab: Hundreds of Sikh activists took out a protest march titled “Vangaar March” in Barnala city yesterday. The march was organized by local Sikh sangat and a Punjabi vernacular – Rozana Pehredar.

The march that started from Gurdwara Nanaksar Thaath, passed through various Court Chowk, Over Bridge, Pakka College Road, Sadar Bazar, Guddkhanna Chowk before concluding at Balmik Chowk.

While talking to media persons S. Jaspal Singh Heiran, Editor of Rozana Pehredar criticized Punjab government for adopting repressive tactics to suppress the struggle of elderly Akali activist Surat Singh Khalsa. He said that in order to hide it’s failure to secure release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their jail terms, the Punjab government was trying to snub the voices of concern.

Meanwhile, Bapu Surat Singh Khasla remains hospitalized under police custody at Civil Hospital of Ludhaina. As per reports police is force-feeding Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa through feeding tube.
