Canada: The World Sikh Organisation of Canada, a Canada based Sikh diaspora organisation has condemned 27 July Gurdaspur attack in which 4 armed assailants killed seven people, including 4 policemen, before being gunned down by the security personnel in a gun-battle that lasted for around 11-12 hours.

Ottawa (July 27, 2015): The World Sikh Organization of Canada condemns the terrorist attack on Dinanagar, Gurdaspur in Punjab today. According to reports, the attackers, who are suspected to have been members of the Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba, killed eight people after first attacking a Punjab Roadways bus and then the Dinanagar police station.
World Sikh Organization of Canada President Dr. Amritpal Singh Shergill said today, “the shocking attack on Dinanagar in Gurdaspur was a brutal act of terrorism that we condemn in the strongest terms. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. In the midst of all the violence today, we would like to acknowledge the brave villagers of Dinanagar who, despite the risk to their lives, continued to serve food to all those in need, in the Sikh tradition of langar.”
