London/ Ludhiana: The Sikh Education Council (SEC), a UK based Sikh education and research organization, has announced the publication of a new academic journal titled ‘International Journal of Sikh Studies’. The International Journal of Sikh Studies is an international, peer-reviewed journal covering the full scope of formative thought and leading research in the field of Sikh Studies. The journal is published annually from London, UK, and aims to publish original articles that significantly further academic work as a whole.
The journal was jointly released by Sikh leader Bhai Daljit Singh, Sikh author and historian S. Ajmer Singh, former Jathedar Giani Kewal Singh and senior journalist and author S. Jaspal Singh Sidhu during a brief function held at Ludhiana on May 22. They said that the International Journal of Sikh Studies was a welcome initiative in the field of Sikh academics. IJSS Chief Editor Dr Pargat Singh said: “[t]his is the fruit of many years of hard work by numerous individuals”.
“I am delighted to have been selected as the Chief Editor by my peers and am confident that this journal will very quickly become renowned for publishing the highest calibre of scholarly research in Sikh Studies”, he added.
