Sikh MPP Jagmeet Singh proposed to move bill for protection of Sikh Kakars in Ontario Provincial Parliament

New Delhi, India (February 03, 2013): Canadian Sikh politician and Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) S. Jagmeet Singh has reportedly proposed to move a bill for the protection of Sikh Kakars in Ontario Provincial Parliament.

“The effort is to provide legal protection to Kirpan and other Kakaars” Punjab News Line (PNL) has reported.

As per PNL S. Jagmeet Singh made this announcement while speaking at a seminar on “Sikh Identity-challenges and responsibilities” organized by Sikh Chetna Lehar at New Delhi on February 03, 2012.

Jagmeet Singh, the first Amritdhari member of Ontario provincial Parliament, reportedly said, “Sikhs are being attacked in USA and other countries due to mistaken Identity. We should create awareness about Sikh Religion on the world level and no one should be targeted on the basis of his caste, creed or religion”.
