Mohali/ Chandigarh: The Akhand Kirtani Jatha today honoured Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda, Bhai Satnam Singh, Bhai Major Singh, Bhai Mangal Singh and Bhai Tarlochan Singh who had taken initiative to act against Giani Gurbachan Singh and other Jatehdars who had granted pardon to the Dera Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. They were honoured during a samagam held at Gurdwara Sacha Dhan Sahib in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali).
The Akhand Kirtani Jatha also gave an Innova car to these five Singhs to carry on their Amrit Sanchar sewa.
The Sikh Relief UK has announced a monthly honorarium for these five Singhs.
While addressing the Sikh sangat during the samagam Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda said that the Sikh sangat had made them to act as “Panj Pyare” against the (so-called) jathedars who had been acting against the collective will of the Sikh panth.
It may be recalled that Giani Gurbachan Singh and other persons holding positions of Sikh jathedars had granted pardon to dera sauda sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in September 2015. The decision was later withdrawn after it was rejected by the Sikh masses. Bhai Satnam Singh and other four Singhs who were performing Amrit Sanchar sewa at Akal Takhat Sahib had acted under their capacity as the Panj Pyare against Giani Gurbachan Singh and other persons involved in decision to grant pardon to dera chief. Bhai Satnam Singh and his companions were recently dismissed from their services by the executive committee of the SGPC.
