Jalandhar, Punjab (February 7, 2013): There are reports in media that Punjabi Rapper and film artiste Yo Yo Honey Singh, besides some others, has been warned and threatened by a some militant organization.
A Punjabi Daily named ‘Jag Bani’ has reportedly claimed that a letter written in Punjabi which reached its Jalandhar office has objected to the vulgarity in the songs of Honey Singh, Geeta Zaildar and Diljit Dosanjh.
As per reports the singers have been asked to mend their ways.
It has been alleged that the above singers have been polluting cultural atmosphere by their vulgar, obscene and indecent singing. Their singing is having an adverse effect on the youth, the letter said.
It is notable here that the front page report in vernacular admits that ‘no one has claimed the unsigned letter’ but goes on to report that Honey Singh is at their ‘hit list’ and would be taught a lesson.
It is notable that the Jag Bani has published the news naming Babbar Khalsa and Khalistan Liberation Force behind the letter. The newspaper has concluded that this letter indicates towards resurgence of these groups in Punjab.
