Sippy Gill’s song “10 Mint” caught in controversy: Case filed against singer Sippy Gill, lyricist and Music Company Speed Records

Chandigarh: Journalist Baltej Pannu has reportedly field a case against singer Sippy Gill for his indecent song ‘10 Mint’ and it’s offensive video. Besides Sippy Gill, the complainant has demanded criminal action against lyricist and video director of the song ‘10 Mint’ and the Speed Records Music Company.

It is notable that a video of singer Sippy Gill’s song ‘Dus Mint’ (10 Mint) was recently released by Speed Records. The video was offensive as it shows religious places (Sikh Gurdwara) making announcement that the gang of ‘Rauni Wala Gill’ was arriving in village therefore all should hide in their houses. ‘Rauni Wala Gill’ (played by singer Sippy Gill) arrives with his gang of goons, kills the family members of his beloved and takes away the girl with him. At the end of song the girl was shows as making pistol-fires in air.

The song and it’s video sparked strong reactions from various circles over social media networks, particularity the Facebook.

Baltej Pannu in his complaint against singer Sippy Gill, Music company Speed Records and others alleged that the song offended the religious sentiments. The complaint was reportedly moved in a Patiala court. The court has fixed 12 December as next date for hearing on this matter.
