Sukhbir Badal said this in reference to the indefinite fast being observed by Kurukshetra resident Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib, Ambala in Haryana for release of Sikh prisoners.

He said he is writing to the Indian Home Minister in this regard, and urged Indian government that the issue should be considered on compassionate grounds. He said that these prisoners should be freed under rehabilitation policy introduced in some other states to bring them back into (so-called) ‘mainstream’.

On the other hand Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s hunger strike entered 20th day today. SGPC and Badal Dal were keeping silence on this issue, where as the BJP had taken lead to contact Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa to pretend it’s ‘seriousness’ to get the issue resolved.
