Tight security arrangements in Pakistan for Sikh Yatris

Wagha/Lahore, Pakistan (November 13, 2013): It is learnt that tight security arrangements have been made in Pakistan for the Sikh yatris visiting various places in wake of celebrations of Parkash Gurpurb of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. As per reports Pakistan Railways Police (PRP) said on November 12 that foolproof security arrangement have been finalized for Sikh yatrees.

“Thousands Sikhs are arriving Pakistan through Wagha Border on birth anniversary Guru Nanank Dev Jee. Pakistan Railways had arranged three special trains and four local trains to facilitate yatrees inside and outside the country”, The Nation, a Pakistani vernacular, has reported.

“Maximum staff has been deployed with each special train. Male and lady commandos have been deployed with each train. Besides this, instructions have been given at RS Wahga, Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Hassan Abdal and at Badami Bagh by the PRP IG Syed Ibne Hussain Railway Police for Sikh yatris security,” the PRP spokesperson reportedly said.

The spokesperson added that bomb disposal staff had been directed to search the all trains and at platform including empty rack and also directed to remain present at all Railways Stations.

“SRPs Lahore and Rawalpindi have been directed to keep close liaison with the District Police Officers.
