US Congressman who raised concerns for Ravinder Singh Gogi to address Town Hall meeting at Roseville Sikh Gurdwara

Roseville, USA: Congressman Tom McClintock will hold a town hall meeting at Gurdwara Sahib Roseville, 1090 Main Street, at 6pm on Tuesday, May 5th. The meeting is open to the public. Congressman McClintock will report on his legislative efforts on behalf of his district in the U.S. House of Representatives. McClintock will also field questions and concerns from those in attendance.

“Rep. McClintock faithfully lends an ear to the concerns of Sikhs in his district, most recently in appealing for the release of the unjustly detained Sikh-American citizen Ravinderjit Singh Gogi in India, and we are proud to welcome him to speak at the Gurdwara once again,” said Roseville Gurdwara President Balraj Singh Randhawa.

McClintock partnered with leaders in the Sikh and South Asian minority communities in 2014 when he joined as a cosponsor of House Resolution 417 to reaffirm the need to protect the rights and freedoms of religious minorities in India. He was previously a guest at the Roseville Gurdwara for town hall in 2013. On April 15, he joined six other California representatives in a letter to the State Department asking them to assist an indefinitely detained U.S. citizen who was jailed in India under a preventative law. On April 27, just two weeks later, California resident Ravinderjit Singh Gogi was released with all charges dropped after his two-month ordeal in an Indian jail.
