Ruins of Sikh Village Hondh Chillar, Haryana that was totally destroyed during Sikh Genocide 1984.
Chandigarh (June 22, 2012): As per a statement issued by AISSF (Peer Mohammad), the Survivors of Hondh Chillar demanded that Justice T.P Garg should visit the ruins of Hondh Chillar genocidal site. Justice TP Garg is heading the one man Commission set up the by State of Haryana on March 05, 2011 in response to the discovery of Mass Grave in village Hondh-Chillar, District Rewari wherein several dozen Sikhs were killed and their properties were burnt in November 1984.
According to AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad, Justice Garg is issuing notices to representatives of Union Government and survivors of Hondh Chillar but has not taken any action on FIR No. 91 dated November 03, 1984 in which the accused were clearly identified. “Is Justice Garg serving the purpose of investigation or is he shielding the perpetrators of Genocide in Hondh Chillar”, questioned Peermohammad. How an inquiry commission can investigate the killings without visiting the site of Mass Grave at Hondh-Chillar?
Surjit Kaur who lost twelve members of her family during November 1984 genocidal attack on village Hondh-Chillar stated that “I have been waiting for justice for the last three decades and successive commissions have failed to bring the perpetrators to justice”. We demand that Justice Garg visit the site of genocidal attack and investigate who all were behind the systematic killing of Sikhs echoed Surjit Kaur.
To mobilize the survivors of November 1984 Sikh Genocide for July 02 appearance before Garg Commission, AISSF delegation headed by Karnail Singh Peermohammad is visiting Hondh Chillar, Rewari, Pataudi and Gurgaon. The AISSF delegation was comprised of Santokh Singh Sahni, Ramesh Mehngi, Satnam Singh, Advocate Ashok Kumar, Gurjeet Singh, Surjit Kaur, Gopal Malik and Babu Singh Dukhiya President National 1984 Victims Justice and Welfare Society.
Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) an international human rights group seeking justice for November 1984 Sikh Genocide announced that it will hire senior advocates to provide legal representation to the survivors in proceedings before the Garg Commission.
