Ambala, Haryana: Sikh religious preacher Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale visited Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa on December 01 for the second time at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib, near Ambala in Haryana.
Seeking permanent release of Sikh political prisoners who have already served the terms of their jail sentences, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has been on an indefinite hunger strike since 14 November 2014.
A release issued by PD Network on behalf of Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale says hunger strike follows on from Bhai Sahib’s similar 44-days long campaign during November to December 2013, which was ended after four of the concerned Sikh prisoners were released on temporary parole. “Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has said he had ended the hunger strike last year, which had gained exceptional momentum during the time, at the directions of the Akal Takht Jathedar who had assured Bhai Sahib that he would secure the release of the prisoners” reads the release.
Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa has said they will strenuously continue to do Parchar to create awareness of Panthic affairs on the ground level, as well as support and show solidarity with any endeavour that may one way or another ultimately lead to the release of Sikh political prisoners who are languishing in Indian jails without reason.
