Bail and Quashing Pleas of Sumedh Saini Dismissed in High Court; Will Punjab Govt. Arrest Him Now?

Chandigarh: Anticipatory bail application and FIR quashing application of former DGP Sumedh Saini in Balwant Singh Multani murder case are dismissed by Punjab and Harayan High Court.

The High Court had heard the arguments in both cases yesterday and the order was reserved for today. Now the status of both cases show as “dismissed”.

Sumedh Saini is hiding somewhere to avoid his arrest and custodial interrogation which according to Mohali court was necessary to further the investigation in 1991 case related to custodial torture and murder of Balwant Singh Multani.

Punjab government is indirectly helping Sumedh Saini by not ensuring his arrest and allowing him time to avail legal options to avoid arrest.

With High Court denying any sort of relief to Sumedh Saini, it is to be seen now that whether Punjab government would continue with its indirect inclination towards Sumedh Saini or ensure his arrest.
Sumedh Saini has option to move Supreme Court of India against High Court’s order.
