Chandigarh: The report of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission into cases related to beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib at Burj Jawahar Singh Wala and Bargari villages and police firing at Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan was leaked today. The PDF copy of Part 1 of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission, that was handed over by Justice (Retd.) Ranjit Singh to Punjab CM Capt. Amarinder Singh on June 30, was found circulating over social media and WhatsApp today.
The Punjab government was already under severe criticism for not taking action as per Justice Ranjit Singh Commission’s recommendations. The Punjab government was reluctant to name Dera Sauda Sirsa (DSS) as a group responsible for incidents of beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib. The Punjab government led by Capt. Amarinder Singh was also trying to avoid taking action against culprit cops who were responsible for police firing at Behbal Kalan village in which two Sikhs were killed.
The parts of report were already being reported by various media sections, where as the Punjab government was totally silent on it.
Punjab CM had announced to handover the probe case related to police firing at Behbal Kalan, in which two Sikhs were killed, to the CBI but the move was being widely criticised as an attempt to adopt the escape route. In a TV interview Justice Ranjit Singh clarified that he had not recommended CBI inquiry in his report.
