DSGMC Elections 2017: Counting of Votes Today; Result Expected by Evening

Chandigarh: The counting of  votes  of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DSGPC) elections that were held last Sunday (26th Feb) shall begin today early morning. The result is expected to be out by evening. The counting of votes will take place at five location namely ITI, Tilak Nagar; ITI (women), Vivek Vihar; ITI, Khichripur; Aryabhat Polytechnic at GT Karnal Road and Basic Training Institute at Pusa Road.

It is interesting to note that the total voter turn out on last Sunday’s election was around 45 % which is slightly around 2% more then the last DSGPC election that were held by in the year 2013.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) president Paramjit Singh Sarna and outgoing DSGMC general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa DSCPC president Manjit Singh GK,  Sikh Sadbhawna Dal leader Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala and former Akal Takhat Sahib jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh are the main contenders in the gurudwara election.
