Chandigarh: Taking precautionary measure in wake of looming floods threat in Punjab, the state government has announced to close all schools, colleges and other educational institutions in Punjab on September 25.
There has been heavy rainfall in Punjab and catchment areas of Punjab rivers in Himachal Pradesh for past 36 hours. The influx of water in rivers and dams is on the rise and the concerned departments have announced that flood gates of dams may be opened anytime as water level in Bhakhra and Pong dams are closing their danger point.
