Jathedars arrive at Gurdwara Amb Sahib to pursue Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa to end his fast

Mohali/ Ludhaina (December 25, 2013): Sikh Siysat News (SSN) sources have revealed that Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib has arrived at Gurdwara Amb Sahib (Mohali) to convince Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa to end his fast with immediate effect.

A private meeting is reportedly being held between Giani Gurbachan Singh and Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who has been on fast unto death since November 14, 2013 seeking permanent release of 6 Sikh political prisoners who have completed their sentences.

It is notable that so far only one such prisoner is temporarily released on parole – Bhai Lal Singh was released on parole on 20 December. He had availed 20 paroles earlier and his in normal situation his parole was due on 24 December.

It is notable that on 24 December Jathedar had sent a letter/ order (adesh) directing Gurbaksh Singh to end his fast. Jathedar had said that release of Bhai Lal Singh is an indication that the issue of Sikh prisoners is nearing solution therefore Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa should end his fast.

The details of meeting between Gurbaksh Singh and Giani Gurbachan Singh were awaited at the time of writing this news.
