Know About Great Sikh Warrier Shaheed Sukhwinder Singh Alias K C Sharma: Bhai Daljit Singh

 

 

Shaheed Bhai Sukhwinder Singh alias K C Sharma was in his late teenage years when Indian Army invaded Darbar Sahib complex to attack Akal Takht Sahib. A simultaneous attack was launched on other Gurdwaras across Punjab and adjoining states. Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Shindu took part in the battle of Akal Takht Shaib and fought with Indian Army along with other warriors led by Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale. After Shaheedi of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji, Bhai Sukhwinder Singh escaped the encirclement of Indian forces taking advantage of his teenage. He played an important role in organizing the struggle thereafter and took part in major guerrilla war actions targeting major culprits of the Ghallughara. He attained martyrdom on 27 February 1988.

A Shaheedi Samagam was organized in the memory of Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Shindu at Gurdwara Baba Bhandari Ji, Kot Mohammad Khan near Tarn Taran on 27 February 2023. Speaking on this occasion Bhai Daljit Singh, a close companion of Bhai Sukhwinder Singh, shared his memories with the Sangat.

Bhai Daljit Singh told Sangat that in order to make a hideout in Delhi Bhai Sukhwinder Singh adopted the name “K C Sharma” but this name became so common in Sikh circles that most people remember his as K C Sharma and many does not even know his real name. He said Bhai Sukhwinder Singh was very kindhearted and brave person who had dedicated his life for struggle and freedom.
