Chandigarh/ Ludhaina (December 11, 2013): According to information available with the Sikh Siysat News (SSN) various Sikh organizations and Human Rights bodies have released a list of 119 Sikh political prisoners.

The list reportedly prepared by Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur has been jointly released by Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, Dal Khalsa, Sikhs for Human Rights and Lawyers for Human Rights International (LFHRI).
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone that the list was released on 10 December, 2013 on the eve of 65th World Human Rights Day.
The list includes two Sikh political prisoners facing capital punishment or the death sentence while 16 are facing life imprisonment. According to this list there are 101 Sikh political prisoners who have been sentenced to 7 or 10 years of imprisonment by Indian Courts.
