Pataudi, Haryana (July 14 2013): It is learnt that nearly 29 years after the Pataudi Sikh Massacre of November 1984, the victims-cum-survivors Jeevni Bai, Shanti Devi and Amrit Kaur filed their affidavits before the Garg Commission on July 13, 2013.
It is notable that a retired judge of of Alahabad High Court, Justice T. P. Garg is ‘investigating’ the Pataudi massacre in which 17 Sikhs were brutally massacred on November 02, 1984.
According to information available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Jeevni Bai informed the commission, through her affidavit, that on November 2, 1984 a murderous mob killed her husband, S. Kishan Singh, and three sons, namely Harbhajan Singh, Harman Singh and Kuldip Singh on the spot.
Shanti Devi informed the commission, in her affidavit, that her father in law, Fateh Singh, was killed by the murderous mobs and she (among others) was badly injured. She informed that the attackers thought that they (she and others) were also dead but they survived.
Another genocide survivor Amrit Kaur told the commission, through her affidavit, that her husband S. Amarjit Singh was killed by the murderous mob on the spot.
Engg. Manvinder Singh Giaspura and other members of the Hondh-Chillar Co-ordination committee told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) through a written communication that the Garg Commission has fixed August 13, 2013 as next date of hearing. As per information the commission has directed other survivors to submit their affidavits at next hearing.
It is notable that the Pataudi massacre of Sikhs was one of the series of massacres of November 1984 that were part of wider plan of Sikh Genocide 1984. This massacre was recently unearthed by some Sikh activists. This massacre was never investigated since 1984.
