Sikh bodies to block railway tracks for 2 hours (12 to 2 pm) on May 31

Jalandhar, Punjab: In order to give a push to the struggle for release of Sikh political prisoners, the Sikh organizations have announced to block Delhi-Amritsar rail link for two hours on May 31.

Bandi Singh Rihai Sangharsh Committee’s spokesman Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Advo. Harpal Singh Cheema (Akali Dal Panch Pardhani), Mohkam Singh (United Akali Dal), Bhai Amrik Singh Ajanala (Damdami Taksal Ajnala), Dr. Manjinder Singh Jandi (Dal Khalsa), R. P. Singh (Akhand Kirtani Jatha), Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala (Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar Mann) and Nobeljeet Singh (Sikh Youth of Punjab) made an announcement in this regard in a joint statement issued today. They said that the railway tracks will be blocked for two hours, from 12 noon to 2 pm, at Jalandhar Cant railway station.

Leaders of Bandi Singhs Rihai Sangharsh Committee, which was formed to support the struggle of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, will lead the sit-in protest, they added.

The sit in protest at railway tracks will be a waring to the Punjab government to dare not to ignore the issue cause of Sikh Political Prisoners, they added.

Leaders of the Sangharsh Committee also issued an appeal to the Sikh masses to participate in the peaceful protest and gather outside Jalandhar Cant railway station by 11:30 am.
