Speech of Bhai Ajmer Singh on Ghallughara 1984, And Internal & External Situation of Sikhs

This is full video recording of speech of Bhai Ajmer Singh on Ghallughara 1984, and Internal & external situation of Sikhs. This speech was delivered on 22 June, 2019 at Gurdwara Sahib Glenwood, Sydney, Australia.

Bhai Ajmer Singh explained that after the June 1984 Ghallughara the Sikh elite had taken a position which was not rooted or guided from Sikh history, tradition or the Gurmat. They had criticised Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale while endorsing Indian State’s narrative. They were critical to the Indian state but to a very limited extent and believed that the State had unnecessarily used excessive force during Army attack on Darbar Sahib.

Bhai Ajmer Singh said that after November 1984 Sikh Genocide the Sikh elite found it hard to continue with same narrative that it had developed or adopted after June 1984. As a result they had stopped criticising Sant Jarnail Singh Ji because it was difficult for them to explain November 1984 Sikh Genocide with those positions.

He said that there is a shift in this scenario now. A section of Sikh elite is again endorsing the Indian State’s narrative about June 1984. In this speech Bhai Ajmer Singh addressed and explained the reasons behind Sikh elite’s position and also rebutted it in the light of Sikh history, tradition and Gurmat.
