S. Mehtab Singh, a research scholar at Panjab University Chandigarh, is engaged in attempts to revive the Sikh tradition of Gurmukhi Akharkari and Gurbani Writing. For around past five years, he has been doing research, learning and practising Gurmukhi Akharkari and Gurbani Writing, and holding workshops to teach others. He says that he has taught about Gurmukhi Akharkari to about four thousand students in past about five years. Some other them are writing Gurbani.
