Two Amritdhari Sikhs Booked On The Pretext Of Dera Sauda Sirsa Affiliated Violence

Muktsar: As per the media reports two Amritdhari (baptized) Sikhs have questioned the police for booking them along with dera supporters on the charge of vandalism and attempting to set afire a petrol pump in the district’s Burj Sidhwan village on August 25.

Charanjit Singh, president, Khalsa Dharam Parchar Committee, Malout, and Harmander Singh, district general secretary, SAD (Amritsar) have claimed innocence, media reports said.

It was reported that the police have, however, admitted some names were mentioned wrongly in the FIR.

Both of them claimed that they were shocked to learn that at being booked along with dera supporters for violence.

The SHO of  Kabarwala police station, Balkar Singh however stated that On petrol pump owner’s statement, several persons — 20 of them by name — have been booked on the charge of hurling petrol bombs and acid.”

“The accused include Charanjit and Harmander, but they have not been arrested. Some persons have been booked wrongly. Nothing has come out against them. Their names will be deleted from the FIR following the legal process.” he further adds to his statement, notes The Tribune (TT).
