Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa urge Jathedars to meet him over Akal Takht edict asking him to end hunger strike

Amb Sahib, Mohli (December 24, 2013): Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who is on hunger strike at Gurdwara Amb Sahib (Mohali) for last 41 days seeking release of 6 Sikh political prisoners languishing in Indian jails despite having completed the terms of their sentences, has been directed by Akal Takht Jathedar to end his hunger strike.

According to Giani Gurbachan Singh the Sikh prisoners issue is nearing solution therefore Gurbaksh Singh should start taking meals and end his hunger strike to regain physical strength.

On the other hand at Gurdwara Amb Sahib (Mohali) a copy of order (Adesh) of Akal Takht was handed over to Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa when he was addressing the gathering of Sikh sangat. Gurbaksh Singh said that he respects the Akal Takht Jathedar’s directive but urged Jathedar to meet him to talk in this regard.
