PUDR seeks clemency for Prof. Bhullar and M. N. Das

New Delhi (June 07, 2011): A major Human Rights body of India, Peoples Union for Democratic Rights, has urged the Union Government of the country to commute the death sentence awarded to Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar as well as Mahendra Nath Das.

Shiromani Committee agrees to setup martyrs’ memorial

Amritsar (June 06, 2011): The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandik Committee (SGPC) has agreed to set up a memorial to the memory of Sikh Martyrs of June 1984 attack on Sri Darbar Sahib, which marks the biggening of third holocaust of Sikh history.

More than 25,000 participated in Remamberance march and Freedom rally at London

London (June 05, 2011): About 25,000 Sikhs from across the UK attended a rally in Trafalgar Square to mark an attack on their holiest shrine in India, organisers have said. Earlier Sikhs marched from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square to commemorate the 1984 attack on the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, north India. Indian armed forces stormed the holiest Sikh shrine 27 years ago.

Sikhs to hold Truth Rally in Toronto on June 20, 2011

Toronto (June 3, 2011): Canadian Sikh community will be holding a “Truth Rally” on June 10, 2011 during SAD (Badal) and Congress-I leaders’ visit to Toronto. The purpose of the rally is to highlight the ongoing atrocities, torture and killing of Sikhs in India by the SAD-Badal and Congress-I regimes. Sikhs in India still lack fundamental rights, they regularly suffer persecution, torture, beatings and killings at the hands of the police.

Prof. DPS Bhullar’s death penalty may hit deportations from Europe

Chandigarh (May 02, 2011): Rejection of the consitutional review petition by President Pratibha Patil against death penalty for Prof. Devender Pal Singh Bhullar in a 1993 blast case in Delhi just ahead of German Chancellor Angela Merkel`s India visit may affect deportation of the others, who are termed as "most wanted" by India, from Europe.
