November 1984 Sikh Genocide Memorial construction to begin at Gurdwara Rakabganj on Nov 1

New Delhi, India: The construction of the November 1984 Sikh Genocide Memorial will start on the premises of Gurdwara Rakabganj in central Delhi on November 1, the 30th anniversary of the genocide of Sikhs in India.

Ratta Khera resident Salwinder Singh, 33, argued for about 15 minutes with the CM and alleged that kin of Jathedars were given government jobs while others like him kept trying in vain.

New Delhi, India: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvinder Kejriwal has said that “[p]re-poll communal violence is becoming a pattern”. He did not name any party but said that “vested political interests” were behind the incidents of “pre-poll” violence. He said so while answering a question posed by Rajdeep Sardesi to the Aam Aadmi Party in relation to incidents of recent clashes between Hindu and Muslim communities in Delhi's Tirlokpuri area.

World Sikh Organization of Canada condemns Ottawa Parliament Shooting

Ottawa (October 23, 2014): The World Sikh Organization of Canada is saddened and shocked by yesterday's terrorist attacks in Ottawa. Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, a 24 year old reservist with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders regiment lost his life in the shooting at the Ottawa War Memorial. The attack was stopped in the Parliament Building by Parliament’s Sgt. at Arms, Kevin Vickers and other members of the Canadian security forces.
