KP, Pakistan: Member of the Pakistan's Punjab Assembly Ramesh Singh Arora Sunday (Oct. 19) urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to provide security to the Sikh community in the province.

Amritsar, Punjab: Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa who has been demanding release of Sikh political prisoners languishing in Indian Jails despite serving the minimum mandatory terms of their sentences today said that he has handed over a list of 7 Sikh prisoners at Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat in Amritsar. Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa said that Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had called him to provide the list of concerned Sikh prisoners.

The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has attained clear majority in Haryana assembly. BJP secured 47 seats in 90 member state assembly. Harayna Results: Badal Dal candidate from Ambala lasted at fourth place

Ambala, Haryana: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) joint candidate Balvinder Singh lasted at fourth place from Ambala City assembly seat. BJP candidate Aseem Goel won Ambala City seat with 60216 votes. Haryana Jan Chetna Party (V) candidate Venod Sharma positioned second with 35964 votes. Badal Dal candidate Balvinder Singh secured 22783 votes for fourth place.

Edmonton/ Calgary: In the midst of the Canadian Sikh community lived a man who was responsible for the torture of thousands of Sikhs and the deaths of hundreds of Sikhs at a conservative estimate. Shiv Sena leader shot dead in Pune, Reason unknown yet

Pune, Maharashtra: A Shiv Sena party leader was shot dead in Pimpri Chinchwad area in Pune on Saturday (Oct. 18) night. According to the police, around 9 p.m. Some unidentified persons barged inside Raju Darshale's office in Punewale Jambhe Road and opened fired at him. Three bullets were fired at him of which one hit him on his head. He was rushed to Birla Hospital and was declared dead on admission.

Haryana Results: Badal Dal candidate Balkaur Singh wins Kalanwali seat

Haryana, India: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) joint candidate Balkaur Singh has won Kalanwali seat in Haryna. Balkaur Singh secured 54112 votes and defeated his nearest rival and Congress candidate Shashipal Keharwala who secured 41,147 votes. BJP candidate Rajender Singh Desujodha positioned third with 17005 votes.
