Chandigarh/ Punjab (April 13, 2014): Angered over Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)’s campaigning against BJP and its ally Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) in Haryana, HJC chief Kuldeep Bishnoi has asked BJP to oust Badal Dal from BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
“Narendra Modi campaigned in Haryana and urged people to make NDA victorious and at the same time, Parkash Singh Badal sought votes to defeat the NDA. What should the voters do. This cannot be tolerated,” according to a letter written by Bishnoi to senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani.
Badal Dal patron and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is president of Badal Dal and Deputy CM of Punjab, had canvassed for the candidates of INLD in Haryana.
“SAD (Badal Dal) should be thrown out of the NDA otherwise it will send a wrong message throughout the country that for vested political interests such people are in the NDA” Bishnoi said.
Kuldeep Bishnoi urged Advani to issue a show cause notice to the Badal Dal seeking explanation as to why they should not be expelled from NDA.
Polling for all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana was held on April 10. While Bishnoi is seeking re-election from Hisar, his party has fielded candidate from Sirsa constituency and the remaining eight seats were fought by the ally BJP.
According to media source the Badal Dal leader had ‘secured confidence’ of BJP regarding their decision to campaign for INDL candidates in Haryana.
