In Maharashtra the ruling party of India is emerging as the largest party but it is likely to fall short of majority there.

BJP had decided to go on it’s own in Haryana after triggering break-up with Kuldip Bishnoi’s Haryana Janhit Congress. The Saffron party is leading on 52 seats in Haryana where there are 90 seats in total. Based on the available leads, BJP is poised to form government on its own in Haryana.

In Maharashtra, BJP is emerging as the single largest party. It is currently leading in 124 out of 288 seats. Shiv Sena is in the second position and Congress and NCP are fighting for the third and fourth spot.

In Maharashtra BJP will need the Shiv Sena (or the NCP) to form a government. Having attacked the NCP all through the campaign, the BJP can at best use it as a bargaining card to get the Shiv Sena in line.
