Belgium: A Gurdwara Sahib in Belgium that was asked to close down after by city mayor will be reopened for the Sikh sangat on December 11.
The Gurdwara Sahib was to be reopened on November 21 but the authorities extended the date of shut down. Gurdwara management committee held a series of meetings with the authorities to get the shutdown order lifted at the earliest possible.
As per information the Gurdwara Sahib will be re-opened for Sikh Sangat on December 11 and Gurdwara Management committee will be holding a meting the authorities to find a permanent solution of the issue.
Gurdwara Guru Nank Sahib was closed after the Belgian media charged the Gurdwara Sahib for providing food (langar) to alleged illegal immigrants from India.
Representatives of the Gurdwara Sahib say that the Gurdwara Sahib offers langar (free food) to anybody who comes there without demanding their identity papers.
