New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), quietly gave clean chit to Sikh genocide accused Jagdish Tytler months ago. Senior Supreme Court lawyer HS Phoolka yesterday disclosed that Jagdish Tytler was given clean chit in CBI closure report in December itself.
However, the issue was not disclosed to prevent any sort of controversy during Delhi Elections 2014.
While speaking to the reporters, Advocate Phoolka said, “This is very sad that Tytler got clean chit in CBI closer report but the public was kept in dark.”
HS Phoolka, who is also a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, alleged that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Bada) and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) were aware of CBI cleant chit to Jagdish TYtler, but they didn’t share this to public in wake of Delhi assembly elections.
“The news was not even given to victim and people too. Tytler got clean chit three months before. They did this because they didn’t want it to affect Delhi election. We will file protest petition against the order,” Phoolka told reporters.
Notably, Jagdish Tytler has been denied ticket to Lok Sabha Elections twice in 2009 and 2014 for his role in 1984 Sikh genocide.
Thousands of innocent Sikhs were brutally massacred with active participation and support of state machinery during Sikh genocide of November 1984 but the Indian state, including India’s judiciary, has failed to punish culprits of November 1984 Sikh genocide and victims have been denied justice for past three decades.
