Chandigarh: Sikh activist Surat Singh Khalsa was reportedly shifted to the PGI, Chandigarh, last evening. Earlier reports had suggested that he was shifted to Patiala but now there are confirm reports that he has been hospitalised at PGI.
Confirming this, Bapu Surat Singh’s son Ravinderjit Singh Gogi said: “My father has not been keeping well and was unconscious for the last few days. The district administration officials have shifted him to the PGI, Chandigarh.”
As per media reports eyewitnesses said the administration had arranged four ambulances and a fire brigade that accompanied Surat Singh Khalsa to Chandigarh. The Sikh activist was shifted under the guidance of Ludhiana Civil Surgeon Dr Renu. Ludhaina DC Rajat Aggarwal and rural SSP Ravcharan Singh Brar were also presented at Surat Singh Khalsa’s house when the police personnel and medical team took Bapu Surat Singh to Chandigarh.
As per information Bapu Surat Singh was admitted to the PGI at 9:20 pm. He has been given a VIP room at Emergency (Surgery).
His blood tests, sugar and kidney tests along with electrolytes test are being done. Essential amino acids like chromium, iron and copper are also being tested along with renal function test and liver test.
According to The Tribune: doctors attending him said his condition was stable and there was no immediate threat to his life. A number of top police officials have been deployed.
