Ludhiana court directs personal appearance of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara on Aug. 22; Notice Tihar Jail authorites

Ludhiana:  A local court in Ludhiana has issued directions to Tihar Jail superintendent to present Sikh political prisoner Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in person on August 22. Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s counsel Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) was holding hearing of a case registered under FIR 139 (dated: December 30, 1995) at police station Kotwali Ludhiana under section 25 of Arms Act.

The witnesses in this cases were closed by order of the court after three prosecution witnesses deposed before the court.

“The court has directed Tihar jail superintendent to present Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in the court in person on August 22 to record his statement under section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code”, informed Advo. Manjhpur while adding that earlier hearings were attended by Bhai Hawara through video conferencing from Tihar jail.
