Amritsar: As per confirmed reports the Central Government of India has directed the Deputy Commissioners of border areas (borders with Pakistan) to get ten kilo-meters area from the international border vacated with immediate effect.
As per some media reports the Principal secretary of the GoI issued directions to DCs via video conferencing to the 10kms area along the Pak border vacated before 4 pm today.
The Tarn Taran SSP Manmohan Sharma said that the directions to get border areas vacated was received this afternoon. He said that the only three hours were granted to get this border range vacated.
DEO Parmjeet Singh said that the schools with in the specified border area are already closed and the students have been sent back to their home.
Sources said that Punjab’s border range with Pakistan has dense population and numerous villages are located in the vicinity of border with Pakistan. People have started moving out of the village and the situation is tense.
The move follows India Army’s Director General Military Operation (DGMO) maintained that the Indian army has conducted ‘surgical strikes’ along side LoC in Kashmir.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja M. Asif said that India conducted gunfire strike in five sectors along LoC in which some Pak soldiers were killed and 9 others were injured. he said that Pak had retaliated India’s firing in the same caliber.
