Chandigarh: The Indian Army has reportedly denied having granted clean chit to a major who had tied a Kashmiri youth in front of an Army jeep to use him as a human shield supposedly to prevent stone pelting from Kashmiris. There are reports in media that the Indian army has maintained that the inquiry against Major Nitin Gogoi was still going on.
Firstpost has quoted Colonel Rajesh Kalia, the army spokesperson in Srinagar, saying that the court of inquiry concerned with the incident wherein a civilian was tied to an army jeep is still incomplete.
“Reports in some sections of the media of the army major being given a clean chit are speculative,” Rajesh Kalia reportedly added.
Earlier there were reports in the media that Major Nitin Gogoi has been given clean chit by the army for his role in an incident which symbolises the atrocities of the Indian army against Kashmir’s civilian population.
