Chandigarh: Mobile Internet Data Services were restored today. The services were suspended by the service providers on August 24 under the directions from the government.
Government had maintained that crackdown on internet services was a precautionary step in wake of apprehensions of violence in that state as a court was set to pronounce verdict on August 25 against a controversial Dera chief.
The services were initially suspended for 72 hour but the suspension was extended on August 27 as the court had announced to pronounce sentence to Dera Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim on August 28.
The services were stored around noon on August 29.
