Nankana Sahib/Lahore, Pakistan (November 18, 2012): According to media reports the Pakistani authorities have made special security arrangements for trains that would be bringing about three thousand Sikhs from India to Pakistan to participate in the events observing Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurupurb.
Guru Nanak Sahib was founder of the Sikh religion and first Sikh Guru.
According to a news report by Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) the Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on November 16, 2012 directed Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) to maximize efforts and provide all possible facilities to the Sikh Yatrees.
“He was talking to Chairman ETPB Syed Asif Hashmi who called on him here at the PM House and apprised him about the arrangements made for the Sikh Yatrees to celebrate Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary on November 25” report added.
He reportedly said that more than 3,000 Sikh Yatrees were expected to reach Pakistan through Wahga Border on November 25. The Pakistan Railways has also made arrangement to run special trains for them on the occasion.
According to APP report “[H]e informed that special security arrangements have also been made for these trains. The Chairman ETPB informed the Prime Minister that Jore Mela was also attended by a large number of Sikh Yatrees and they were satisfied with the arrangements made by the government of Pakistan”.
