Sadda Haq – very touching movie: Yuba City viewer

Yuba City, US (April 07, 2013): As per media reports Sadda Haq movie that is banned by various state government in northern parts of India is showing in Yuba City.

“Sadda Haq” is based on facts, but uses fictional names and dramatizations to tell the story of police abuses and militant uprisings in Punjab during the 1980s and ’90s.

Escalating violence and human rights violations forced many people to leave Punjab. Its history that hits close to home for Mid-Valley Sikhs.

According to a news report by teh Appeal-Democrat.Com: Yuba City resident Kuljit Kaur and her husband called the film “very touching” after watching it.

As per the A-D “Dr. Jasbir S. Kang was also among the viewers, and said he thinks the purpose of the movie is about reconciliation of the past”.

“In the end, the message of the movie is telling the younger generations to not use violence, but to use media and the Internet in order to create a public opinion,” Kang reportedly said.

“For any free and democratic society, for it to progress … it’s important to learn lessons from mistakes of the past,” he added. “Censorship is a retrograde step”, he opined.
