Muktsar, Punjab (May 05, 2014): As per media reports Mukatsar Deputy commissioner Paramjit Singh has directed additional deputy commissioner (development) Rambir Singh to look into the allegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) workers bought votes at Kauni village in Giddarbaha assembly segment, which is part of the Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency. Polling was held in all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab on April 30.
A delegation from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) met the Mukatsar DC on the alleged violation of the election model code of conduct, after which this decision was taken.
DC Paramjit Singh reportedly said that he has marked an inquiry to Rambir Singh, ADC (development) and action woubld be taken accordingly. “The report will be scrutinised extensively” he added.
Muktsar ADC Rambir Singh said that he was out of town and would start work on the case soon.
It has been learnt that one of the two people, who had filmed the purported video showing the buying of votes, had submitted a compact disc to the deputy commissioner.
Additional chief electoral officer, Punjab Raminder Singh told that a report from Muktsar deputy commissioner was expected soon on the basis of which the action would be taken in the case.
