Bengaluru/ Chandigarh: Hindutva outfit and students’ wing of ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Akhil Bhartiya Vidyardhi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded ban on Amnesty International India after the human rights body held an event called “Broken Families” in Bengaluru to highlight the plight of Kashmiri families, including those of Kashmiri Pandits.

The ABVP, on whose complaint a case of sedition was filed against Amnesty International India in Bengaluru, led a protest by school children outside Raj Bhavan (Bengaluru) on August 14 to demand the arrest of the participants and organisers of the “Broken Families” event.

“We want Amnesty International banned,” said ABVP general secretary Vinay Bidre.

Meanwhile, the Amnesty International India has reponded to allegations levelled by ABVP in it’s complaint to the Bengaluru police that led to registration of sedition charge.
